A rock hunt

For Valentines Day this year Amelia and her friends painted pet rocks. Amelia and I had to go out the afternoon before the party to gather rocks for everyone to paint. For fun we called it a rock hunt. She carried her bag down the street, picked up rocks with her fingertips (like they were going to bite), and then tried to drag the bag back to the house. It was cute and a fun memory.

It seems it is destined to be not just a fun memory but an enduring tradition. Amelia is not big on going on a walk just to be walking. We have to be going somewhere. To avoid having to go visit her cousins twice daily, we go on rock hunts. Today she put her stocking hat and scarf on over her sun dress, finished it off with clogs and bounced down the sidewalk with a pink gift bag. We stopped every time she saw a rock, a chunk of sidewalk, even a hard lump of dirt. Since Daddy was home we had to rush back to show off our treasure and line them up on the bench for display.

Wouldn't it be great to be 3, carefree, finding treasures on the ground. I envy how beautiful she looks dressed like a bag lady.

A bag lady! Too funny. I love the imagery.

I like the new layout. Very cute. Did you design it yourself?
(Probably a dumb question).

Yeah, I designed my new layout. I wanted the damask to look like muddy footprints with a little purple pretty mixed in. Anyway, that is what I do for entertainment, dumb I know. There are some really cute ones already made up for use. You know me, I like to do it my way:)
