The world has revolved around a beautiful baby girl lately and I guess that is to be expected. But we are trying really hard to shower Amelia with love and attention whenever we can. She has handled the new addition very well and I have learned a lot about her and myself through all of this. The biggest thing I have noticed is the stark differences between the girls and between Amelia and I. Amelia has a lot of me in her but she has a lot of great qualities that I wish I had. I know I have more to worry about than she does but she is so optimistic and fun loving.
I have to share this great moment. Amelia was playing a computer game in the kitchen at the table. She found a link off playhousedisney.com that plays the music from the shows. I heard her over there singing Johnny and the Sprites at the top of her lungs, this not out of the ordinary at our house. But when I looked over I saw a true performance. She was standing on the chair watching her reflection in the sliding door. She was putting Liza Minelli to shame with her moves and flare. The show went on for several songs. We applauded, trying not to let her see us laugh.
That magical combination of performer, model, magician, and sports fanatic is irresistable. She sure does enjoy the freedom of childhood. Here's to being a kid, may we all let that loose from time to time!
